Power Cycle your Device

There will come a time when your wireless devices will not connect to your router, even though the Wi-Fi light is blinking. There will be a time when your router will not connect to your modem. There is an easy process that will solve 75% of all “no internet connection” problems that exist today. It is called the power cycle. There are three steps, pretty simple.

  1. Unplug your device
  2. Wait 20-30 seconds
  3. Plug your device back in

Now, I realize this is a rather simple process, but you would be amazed at the people who do not take the time to do this one little troubleshooting step. If you are ever lose internet connectivity, your best bet is power cycle both your router and your modem, but it must be done in the following order:

  1. Unplug your router
  2. Power cycle your modem
  3. Plug your router back in

You will be surfing the web again in no time.
